I am an experienced psychologist specializing in psychodynamic therapy and affect consciousness, and I have extensive experience in diagnosing and treating obsessive-compulsive disorders, depression, trauma, and personality disorders. I particularly focus on improving mental health among young men and boys, and with my multicultural background, I understand the challenges that can arise in various cultural contexts. In the therapy room, I create a safe and open environment where we can explore and understand your feelings and challenges together. In the Therapy Room

In the therapy room, I am committed to genuinely understanding and taking your challenges seriously. My aim is to create a safe space where you can talk about what is difficult. Like all relationships, the relationship between client and therapist requires good cooperation. Therefore, I focus on checking in and exploring the emotions, thoughts, and reactions that arise during therapy. I am predictable and transparent so that it is clear we both have the same understanding of what is challenging and how we will work on it.

Method

I emphasize integrating focus on life situations, relationships, and physical health, in addition to mental health, in treatment. The therapy is tailored to your needs and preferences. I use elements from various therapeutic approaches, but I am particularly skilled in working with emotions. I help you become familiar with your own emotions and reactions, and use these emotions as a guide to understand your needs and desires.

I use methods and techniques from:

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy

  • Affect Consciousness

  • Cognitive Therapy (especially Metacognitive Therapy)

  • ISTDP (Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy)
