Education and background

I am a trained psychologist from the University of Oslo with a specialization in clinical psychology and have started specializing in adult psychiatry.

In the therapy room

As a psychologist, I am curious about and fascinated by the complexity and inner mysteries of the human mind. I am genuinely interested in understanding and getting to know you, while recognizing that exploring vulnerable themes in one's life can feel daunting for many. In the therapy room, my primary focus is therefore on creating a safe relationship - meeting you with empathy, honesty, and warmth, emphasizing that this is your space and your time.

Method

As a therapist, I work from an integrative approach, with a foundational understanding rooted in psychodynamic theory. An integrative approach means that I combine various psychological techniques and theories to help people with their emotional and psychological difficulties. I utilize elements from:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Metacognitive Therapy

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

  • Humanistic Therapy

  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (training in mindful presence).

Client Feedback

Ida is open and easy to talk to. I quickly developed trust in her, which is important when sharing one's innermost thoughts. I feel that she listens, and together we reflect on various topics. She provides some tools that can be used to organize emotions and events in life, which is very helpful. Psychologist appointments over video work very well. It's nice to avoid travel time. If you are comfortable with other digital meetings and cameras, I also recommend digital psychologist appointments "where you are".

Ida comes highly recommended. Personally, I grew a lot with her help.

I received tools that helped me handle situations that I may find stressful. A very good process that has helped me immensely.
